Signs of Iron Deficiency

Signs of Iron Deficiency

To maintain adequate iron levels in the body, it is important to eat iron-rich foods and pay attention to improving iron absorption.

When hemoglobin and iron levels in the blood are low, a person may experience persistent tiredness.

It is recommended to choose foods rich in iron. Sources include beef, liver, egg yolk, beans, buckwheat and green leafy vegetables such as spinach.

Vitamin C, found in foods such as lemons, oranges and bell peppers, helps the body absorb iron from food more effectively. For example, having a lemon-based salad or side dish with meat may be helpful.

Tea or coffee consumed immediately after a meal may reduce iron absorption. For this reason, it may be better to drink them 1–2 hours after eating.
