English A Turkmen cultural and tourism complex may be established in Bukhara

A cultural and tourism complex of Turkmenistan is planned to be established in the city of Bukhara.

The initiative was discussed during a working meeting involving the Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee and representatives of Türkiye’s “Finwest Finance Company” investment company, the Eurasian Union of Local Self-Government Bodies, as well as “OOO SD TURKMEN HALY”, a Turkmen-Uzbek joint venture engaged in the production and promotion of Turkmen carpets.

The planned complex will be dedicated to the culture of Turkmenistan, where visitors will be able to learn about the history, traditions and national crafts of the Turkmen people.

According to the agency, the complex is in line with new trends in the development of ethnographic and cultural tourism in Central Asia.

At present, comprehensive centres offering opportunities to become acquainted with the cultures of neighbouring countries are also being created instead of separate souvenir shops or temporary exhibitions.
