American Matthew Hay Enters Guinness World Records with His Beard
Matthew Hay, a 54-year-old resident of Baldwin City, Kansas, USA, has entered the Guinness World Records by setting a new world record for the longest natural beard.
The previous record in this category belonged to American Rudolf Martinoff, whose beard measured 1.06 meters. Matthew Hay significantly surpassed that achievement by growing his natural beard to a length of 1.603 meters.
The new record was officially verified in Independence, Missouri. Specialists carefully unbraided one section of his beard and laid it out on a special wooden board to measure its full length.
Matthew has been growing his beard for approximately 20 years without shaving it. He recalls how his children once asked to braid his beard and play with it when they were younger.
His beard currently continues to grow by an average of 7–10 centimeters per year. Matthew Hay has no plans to shave or shorten it anytime soon.
