Tesla to Discontinue Production of Cybertruck Pickup

Tesla to Discontinue Production of Cybertruck Pickup

Tesla, one of the world's most well-known electric vehicle manufacturers, will discontinue production of its futuristic Cybertruck pickup. According to company CEO Elon Musk, production of the model at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, will be completely halted by mid-2027.

The company intends to redirect the production capacity allocated to the pickup toward mass production of its promising new Cybercab robotaxi.

The pickup, which began deliveries to customers in late 2023, failed to meet expectations. Musk initially projected annual sales of 250,000 vehicles, but actual figures fell significantly short of that target.

According to Kelley Blue Book, 38,965 Cybertruck vehicles were sold in the United States in 2024. In 2025, sales declined by 48%, reaching just 20,237 units.
