TV Series About Birds Attacking People to Be Made

“Succession” star Sarah Snook will play the lead role in a new HBO project.

The new series will differ significantly from the original through its distinctive artistic approach and tense political-detective elements. The story will focus on family issues and a deep investigation.

The main character, Myra Messi, returns to her childhood home with her young daughter. There, she tries to uncover the truth behind the sudden and suspicious disappearance of her childhood friend.

But the story does not end there — attacks by winged predators begin, at first appearing random but soon turning into a terrifying threat. As a result, Myra must both solve the mystery and protect her child.

The project’s screenplay has been entrusted to Tom Spezialy, known for the series “The Leftovers”. He is developing the project together with David Heyman, producer of the famous “Harry Potter” films.

The producing team also includes Danny Samit, Jennifer Gabler Rawlings and lead actress Sarah Snook herself.

Universal Pictures, which owns the original Hitchcock film, is also behind the project.

A feature-film version starring Naomi Watts was previously attempted in 2007, while BBC also tried to develop a television series between 2007 and 2017, but none of those projects ultimately came to fruition.
