Yuri Gagarin’s Diplomatic Passport Put Up for Auction in Spain
Yuri Gagarin’s diplomatic passport has been put up for auction in Marbella, Spain. The document was issued to the cosmonaut on September 25, 1963, for one year, but was extended several times.
Based on Soviet-era exit visas and border stamps, the passport remained valid at least until 1967. The markings in the document also indicate that Gagarin used it during his “Peace Mission” travels between 1963 and 1967.
The stamps include those of France, Cuba, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Bulgaria and Chile.
