Giant Book Requiring 10 People to Turn Each Page Enters Guinness World Records

A presentation of the world’s largest book, titled “Moonlight and Darkness”, was held at a library in Los Angeles. The work has been entered into the Guinness World Records.

The monumental piece was created by artist and graphic designer Daniel Gonzalez to mark the library’s anniversary.

The book weighs around 800 kilograms. When opened, its outer section extends from dimensions of 4.7×6.1 meters to as much as 9 meters. The three-dimensional paper structures inside reach a height of 3.35 meters.

The book is made from specially reinforced fabric, ordinary paper and glue, and a total of 35 specialists worked on its creation.

Because of its enormous size, the book had to be transported into the building in separate parts.

Turning the pages of this artwork, which decorates the central hall, requires a special team of 10 people using long poles.
