Stepping away from screens: a solution or a new threat?

Stepping away from screens: a solution or a new threat?

According to the BBC website, some technology leaders envisage a future in which people will look at their phone screens less. According to this idea, smart glasses, camera-equipped AirPods and AI devices worn on the neck could allow people to use them without looking at a screen. According to reports, Apple may be preparing AirPods with a built-in camera. These cameras are not for taking pictures, but for gathering information about the surroundings to help virtual assistants like Siri work more intelligently. Such technologies can reduce the time people spend on their phones, making interaction with computers more natural and convenient. However, this future is not entirely positive. On the one hand, technology can make our lives easier, but on the other, it can encroach upon our personal space, potentially turning into a new 'dystopia'. The company Snap has also introduced its new AI smart glasses — the Specs model. The company's leader, Evan Spiegel, said these devices could herald a new era in interacting with computers. But the key question still remains: are people really ready for such a future?
