Are You Familiar with These Unusual Fruits?!
Lime-flavored melon. Its appearance resembles a small yellowish-green melon, while cutting it releases a fresh lemon and lime aroma. The variety was developed by Taiwan’s “Known-You Seed” company through traditional crossbreeding and introduced to the market by the Dutch company “HillFresh”.
An apple that can be stored for a long time without spoiling. It has dark red skin with small light-colored speckles, a juicy and firm texture, and a flavor that combines sweetness with a slight tartness. Under suitable storage conditions, the fruit can remain fresh without losing its quality for almost a year.
A tiny cucumber that fits in your pocket. This is a very small, smooth, green cucumber weighing only about 40 grams. Its compact size allows it to fit easily in the hand or pocket, making it convenient to take along and eat while travelling.
Pineapple-flavored strawberry. This unusual white strawberry, known as Pineberry, immediately attracts attention with its distinctive appearance and pineapple-like flavor. The variety originated from the natural combination in Europe in the 18th century of the white-fruited South American Fragaria chiloensis and the red-fruited North American Fragaria virginiana.
Although this rare variety appeared to have disappeared over time, Dutch breeder Hans de Jong brought the unusual cultivar back to the market in 2009 after six years of work using natural methods.
