Trump Phone Put to the Test

The test results fully confirmed the views previously expressed by iFixit experts. The device, which was advertised as “Made in USA” and is now promoted as “Proudly American,” is in fact a 2024 “HTC U24 Pro” smartphone with only its exterior color changed. The internal boards, camera layout, interfaces and all technical specifications of the two smartphones are identical. The blogger even swapped parts between the two devices and showed that they were fully compatible.

The phone’s “gold”-colored plastic body and edges scratch very easily. An error was also found in the image of the U.S. flag on the back: only 11 stripes were shown instead of 13.

The display meets modern standards. On the Mohs hardness scale, light scratches appeared at level 6 and deeper scratches at level 7. The screen also withstood exposure to an open flame well. When an attempt was made to bend the body, the device did not break.
