Ford Is Teaching Its New Cars to Protect Themselves from Thieves

A new technology introduced by Ford could allow vehicles to react independently to theft risks and strengthen their own security measures.

Even while parked, a vehicle could continuously monitor its surroundings and identify suspicious situations or people on its own.

If a theft risk is detected, the car could change its position in the parking space, making it significantly harder for thieves to act.

To help prevent the theft of wheels, headlights or items from the trunk, the vehicle could move closer to a wall or another parked car.

To protect valuable components underneath the vehicle, the suspension system could lower the body as much as possible.

For now, the technology has only been registered as an invention, and it is still unclear when it may enter production.
