Audi to Build a New Plant in the United States

Well-known German automaker Audi plans to build a major production facility in the US state of Georgia.

A total of $4 billion is expected to be invested in the new plant near Macon, Georgia. The facility is planned to produce 200,000 crossover vehicles annually.

Construction of the plant is expected to begin in 2027, with full production scheduled to start in the early 2030s. The project is expected to create around 4,500 new jobs in the United States.

The construction of the new factory is also directly linked to US tariff policy. US President Donald Trump said that tariffs imposed on automobiles and spare parts had forced foreign manufacturers to move production into the country.

Last year, the global brand reportedly had to pay an additional $1.4 billion in tariffs because it imported vehicles from Europe and Mexico.
