A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Sergey Lebedev, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the 111th meeting of the CIS Economic Council.

During the talks, the parties exchanged views on key issues of the CIS agenda. Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of the priorities of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in the Commonwealth in 2026, as well as preparations for upcoming state and high-level events.

The parties also discussed preparations for the meetings of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the CIS Council of Heads of State, which will be held on October 7 and 9 this year in the «Avaza» national tourist zone.

In this regard, organizational issues related to the upcoming high-level events and their agendas were discussed.
