Nobel Prize Money Increased

The Nobel Foundation has increased the monetary award for the 2026 Nobel Prize to 12 million Swedish kronor, or approximately $1.22 million. Representatives of the Foundation announced the change.

Over the past 15 years, the prize amount has been revised several times. In 2012, it was reduced from 10 million to 8 million Swedish kronor in each category. Since then, the amount has been increased three times and has now reached 12 million kronor.

The 2026 Nobel Prize laureates will be announced between October 5 and 12.
