60-Year-Old American Sets Guinness World Record by Watching 1,207 Movies

Glenwood Hoskin, a 60-year-old resident of York Haven, Pennsylvania, USA, has entered the Guinness World Records for the number of movies watched in a cinema. He watched 1,207 films in a single year, setting a new world record. That amounts to an average of more than three movies per day.

Hoskin completed his unusual movie marathon at a local cinema between April 2024 and April 2025. To achieve this remarkable result, he carefully studied screening schedules in advance and spent nearly the entire day at the cinema, from the moment its doors opened until the final screening ended.

The previous record belonged to fellow American Zachary Swope, who watched 777 movies in one year. Hoskin significantly surpassed that figure by taking advantage of an unlimited cinema subscription costing just $28 per month.
