Why Does Your Skin Become Oilier in Hot Weather?

In hot weather, the skin becomes oilier due to increased activity of the sebaceous glands and the mixing of sweat with skin oil. When body temperature and ambient heat rise, the sebaceous glands accelerate sebum production to protect the skin and retain moisture.

At high temperatures, the body sweats more. Sweat combines with skin oil, forming a shiny, oily layer on the skin’s surface. Heat also causes pores to expand, allowing accumulated oil to reach the skin’s surface more easily.
