Messi Sets a New Record

Lionel Messi helped Inter Miami defeat Cruz Azul 2–0 and win the Champions Cup for the first time.

For the Argentine forward, the trophy was the 49th of his professional career. He set a new world record for the number of team titles won.

In the middle of the first half, Messi opened the scoring with a header following a pass from Luis Suárez. The goal was the Argentine player’s 100th for Inter Miami.
