Chinese Entrepreneur Rides a Motorcycle 41 km Across a River

Zhang Xue, head of “Zhang Xue Motor”, traveled 40.74 kilometers across the surface of a river on a specially modified motorcycle in Mayang County, Hunan Province.

He completed the distance in around 32 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 31.8 kilometers and setting a Guinness World Record.

The MX450 motorcycle used for the attempt was fully adapted for traveling on water. Specialists equipped it with floats, special skis, an enlarged fuel tank and waterproof protective elements.

Blades fitted to the rear wheel provided propulsion, while the front section allowed the rider to steer the vehicle.

The entrepreneur spent 17 years working toward this achievement. He made his first attempt in 2009 at the age of 22, when he managed to travel only about 20 meters across the water.

Together with his team, the engineer spent several months improving stability and waterproofing. This time, he said safety was the top priority, so he limited the speed and rated the final result 99 out of 100.
