Mbappe Ends Nike Partnership and Signs Deal With Another Brand

Real Madrid and France national team forward Kylian Mbappe has officially ended his nearly 20-year partnership with Nike and signed a deal with Swiss sports brand On. The French striker is set to become the main face of the brand, while the company plans to use the partnership to make a full entry into the football market.

Following the announcement of the agreement, On shares rose by 6% in pre-market trading in New York. The brand aims to compete with Nike, Adidas, and Puma through its LightSpray technology.

According to the company’s official website, the technology makes it possible to create an ultra-light, completely seamless shoe upper in just a few minutes by spraying a continuous thermoplastic filament. Such lightweight football boots are expected to help players feel the ball more precisely.
