“Arkadag” football team played its first match of the AFC Champions League Two group stage

Turkmenistan’s football club “Arkadag” defeated Bahrain’s “Al-Muharraq” 1–0 in its first match of the group stage of the AFC Champions League Two.

The match was held at the stadium in Arkadag city.

All AFC matches began with a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the devastating floods and landslides that occurred in China and Nepal.

“Arkadag” and “Al-Muharraq” compete in Group B of the tournament alongside the UAE’s “Al Jazira” and Iran’s “Gol Gohar”.

In the other group match, these teams played to a 0–0 draw. As a result, after the first round, the Turkmen club moved to the top of Group B with three points. “Al Jazira” and “Gol Gohar” earned one point each, while “Al-Muharraq” remained without points.
