The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan
On August 20, the President of Turkmenistan received Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit.
The Head of State wished success to the upcoming consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, expressing confidence that these meetings would contribute to expanding the priority areas of Turkmen-Tajik strategic cooperation based on historical ties, friendship and mutual respect, as well as strengthening relations between the foreign policy agencies of the two countries.
The two countries continue to develop cooperation both bilaterally and within multilateral formats. A clear example of this is their mutual support for initiatives aimed at strengthening global peace, stability and prosperity within the framework of the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Economic Cooperation Organization, other international organizations and the “Central Asia +” format.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that, within the framework of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the CIS this year, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth, as well as the consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan, are planned to be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. This will contribute to expanding multilateral cooperation in the region.
It was emphasized that trade and economic cooperation plays an important role in relations between the two friendly countries. The Joint Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation holds a special place in this area.
The Head of State noted that new opportunities are currently emerging for expanding trade and economic relations, highlighting the great potential for cooperation in the energy, transport and agricultural sectors.
The cultural and humanitarian sphere remains an integral part of bilateral relations. The peoples of the two countries are united by centuries-old friendship and brotherhood, good-neighborly relations, and shared historical, cultural and spiritual values. It was emphasized that these relations will continue to develop actively through the organization of joint cultural events.
