UK Launches Three-Day Food and Water Supply Program
The UK government is urging the country’s population to be prepared for unexpected emergencies.
Under the government’s newly introduced “Be Ready” program, every household should keep at least a three-day supply of drinking water and non-perishable food.
The need for this large-scale measure is linked to the increasing frequency of natural and technical emergencies in recent times.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham, reflecting on previous experience, stressed that the country often takes action only after an incident occurs, whereas greater attention should now be given to advance preparedness.
In this regard, even military aviation is planned to be involved in fighting wildfires.
