BMW to Pay More Than €650,000 to Employees Who Voluntarily Leave the Company
The company is offering large payments to employees who voluntarily terminate their employment contracts. In some cases, the payment may exceed €650,000 — roughly equal to the price of seven new BMW X5 vehicles.
According to “BMW Blog”, the company plans to reduce its workforce by around 8,000 employees by the end of 2027. Workers who agree to leave before the set deadline will also be eligible for an additional “Turbo Bonus” payment.
It is noted that job reductions will be carried out only on the basis of mutual agreement, without forcing either party.
The amount paid to each employee will be calculated individually depending on age, position, salary and length of service with the company.
Payments can be received in several convenient ways, including as a lump sum, in instalments, transferred to a pension fund or directed toward insurance contributions.
As an additional benefit, employees who turn 55 by October 2027 will be able to use benefits intended for BMW retirees, including the right to purchase vehicles at a discount.
Some senior executives may also be given the opportunity to acquire their company cars for personal ownership.
