Regular Meeting of the CIS Economic Council Held
The 111th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held at the Ýyldyz Hotel on September 11. It was attended by the CIS Secretary General, heads of the organization’s Executive Committee, relevant ministries and sectoral bodies, as well as diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The meeting reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s role in strengthening traditional and effective relations within the CIS. Its agenda included a number of issues aimed at developing economic cooperation in various fields.
Participants also discussed strategic plans for improving transport safety, a concept for developing industrial cooperation in high-tech sectors, and other financial and organizational matters.
