Training on the protection of women’s rights was held

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Office in Turkmenistan, jointly with the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan, organized a two-day training seminar dedicated to the application of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in the work of law enforcement agencies.

The seminar was held online on September 9–10 under the guidance of UNFPA international expert Lori Mann.

During the seminar, participants studied the key areas of implementing the Convention, international legal standards on non-discrimination, and methods for eliminating gender stereotypes in the judicial system.

The event was organized within the framework of Turkmenistan’s National Action Plan on Gender Equality for 2026–2030, the Roadmap for implementing the CEDAW Concluding Observations, and the joint work plan between UNFPA and the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan.
