The international authority of our Motherland continues to rise, while the noble initiatives it puts forward in the international community receive broad support around the world. In the hearts of our happy citizens, who are greeting the glorious 35th anniversary of sacred independence with new labour achievements, feelings of love for the Motherland and pride in our wonderful era are growing stronger. Large-scale state programmes aimed at the political and economic development of our prosperous state and the further improvement of people’s living conditions are being implemented successfully.
Our sacred independence, glorified by the lofty wisdom of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, has become praise on people’s lips and pride in their hearts. The blessings given to our people by glorious independence inspire our happy compatriots to great deeds.
Dear young singers!
In his book ‘If a State Comes to the People…,’ the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, notes: ‘Musical art has been honoured with special respect in the life of our people in every era.’ As the esteemed Arkadag emphasizes, our united people have always cherished and loved musical art. Throughout its centuries-old glorious history, the Turkmen people have given music a central place in their hearts and made vibrant musical works an inseparable part of their way of life. The inspiring songs and music performed by our master bagshy musicians have added even greater splendour to celebrations held on Turkmen soil. Through the unbreakable power of art, our courageous ancestors glorified the principles of peace, brotherhood and humanism.
Renowned masters of art who made great contributions to the development of modern Turkmen musical art have earned a lasting place in people’s hearts with songs close to the soul. Such songs as Khojaw Annadurdyýew’s ‘Balykçynyň aýdymy,’ Aýdogdy Gurbanow’s ‘Aýna,’ Ata Ilamanow’s ‘Çap, atym!,’ Annaberdi Atdanow’s ‘Duran ýerlere,’ Öwezgeldi Tekäýew’s ‘Ýyllar ýatyr aramyzda,’ Mämi Çaryýew’s ‘Ülkämiň toý saçagynda,’ Saparmyrat Babaýew’s ‘Gözleriň,’ Muhammet Hallyýew’s ‘Halyçy gözel,’ Gurbansoltan Nurýagdyýewa’s ‘Bilbil nämä saýraýar?,’ Gurbannazar Hojagulyýew’s ‘Ýatlama,’ Gurban Gummanow’s ‘Boýlaryňa,’ Nurýagdy Tokgaýew’s ‘Aý dogan çagy,’ Rejepmuhammet Ulugow’s ‘Ak maýa gerek,’ Täçmuhammet Hajyýew’s ‘Gyzlaryň,’ and Atabaý Çarygulyýew’s ‘Şadyýan gözel’ have remained forever in the hearts of the people. The creative legacy of masters who forged their own path in the world of art is an exemplary school.
Dear young singers!
Leaving a mark in the world of art requires mastery. To attain excellence in musical performance, it is essential to study the distinctive styles of renowned mentors and go through the master-apprentice school. Musical works that have entered the hearts of the people are the treasure of our national culture. Enriching this treasure is the sacred duty of our young singers.
Young singers, you must find your own place in the world of art through your natural voice and individual style of performance. The future development of Turkmen musical art, whose origins extend deep into the centuries, depends on you. We place great hope in your future and firmly believe that you will perform songs that uplift the hearts of our compatriots with great artistic skill and contribute to the worldwide renown of our national art.
Young male and female singers!
Once again, I wholeheartedly congratulate you on participating in the final stage of the ‘Ýaňlan, Diýarym!’ television contest in the year ‘Independent, Eternally Neutral Turkmenistan—the Homeland of Swift Horses and Fulfilled Dreams.’ I wish you good health, a peaceful and happy life, and great success in your creative pursuits.”
