Greece Restricts Social Media Use for Children Under 15
Greek lawmakers have adopted a new bill restricting the use of social media platforms by children and teenagers under the age of 15.
According to ERT television, the rule will officially come into force on the first day of 2027.
The document was presented to parliament by Minister of State Akis Skertsos. During the parliamentary session, the bill received full support from members of the ruling New Democracy party.
Similar restrictions are currently being actively discussed in other countries around the world. Denmark, Spain, Türkiye, South Korea and the United Kingdom are also seeking to protect children from the harmful effects of the internet.
Although these countries share similar goals, the methods of introducing restrictions and their implementation timelines may differ.
