A meeting was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan with UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Xiaojun Grace Wang

A meeting was held between Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova and Xiaojun Grace Wang, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the head of the national Parliament congratulated Xiaojun Grace Wang on her appointment as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan and wished her success in her responsible diplomatic work aimed at further developing the effective cooperation established between Turkmenistan and the United Nations.

It was emphasised during the meeting that support for Turkmenistan’s initiative, put forward at the plenary meeting of the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly, to declare 2028 the “International Year of Law” would be of great importance in enhancing the role of international law worldwide, ensuring global peace and security, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and further developing effective multilateral cooperation. It would also provide positive momentum for uniting the efforts of the world’s states in the interests of all humanity.

Attention was drawn to the significance of our country’s important initiatives aimed at ensuring energy security, developing transit transport corridors and protecting the environment.

Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova invited United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Xiaojun Grace Wang to attend as an honoured guest the International Women’s Dialogue and the conference on demographic issues to be held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone as part of our country’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
