Turkmen scientists will take part in a historical and ethnographic expedition to the Altai

Turkmen scientists will also take part in a historical and ethnographic expedition organised by Altai State University of the Altai Territory of the Russian Federation from August 10 to 18.

During the latest expedition, participants plan to visit villages inhabited by Turkic peoples in the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic and study their ancient customs and traditions, national crafts, carpet-making art and crafts such as felt-making, as well as the peoples’ traditional clothing and way of life.

Representing our country in the expedition are Ayna Baymuradova, a doctoral student at the Academy of Sciences and Candidate of Historical Sciences, and Toyly Hommyyev, a lecturer at the Department of History of Turkmenistan of Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
