A total of 4.1 million tonnes of oil was produced over the past six months

According to the results for January–June 2026, Turkmenistan produced 4 million 129.8 thousand tonnes of oil.

Most of the country’s oil production comes from the Western Region, which covers the onshore areas of Balkan Region and the coastal zones of the Caspian Sea. Major onshore fields such as Goturdepe, Gumdag, Barsagelmez, Cheleken and Nebitlije are being actively developed there.

In addition, foreign partners, including Malaysia’s Petronas and the United Arab Emirates’ Dragon Oil, are actively involved in developing shallow-water areas in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

The country has created broad opportunities not only for extracting raw materials, but also for processing them and producing high-quality products.

The extracted crude oil is converted into finished products at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries and the Seydi Oil Refinery.

Oil and petroleum products produced in Turkmenistan are currently exported regularly to countries including China, Türkiye, the Republic of Korea, Iran and Afghanistan.
