In the first six months of this year, investments totalling over 18.6 billion manats were utilised in Turkmenistan

At an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on Friday to review the results of the first six months of the current year, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that more than 18.6 billion manats in capital investment had been utilized in the country during the first half of 2026.

At the meeting, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Finance and Economy, Mammetguly Astanagulov, presented a report on the implementation of the State Budget in the first half of the year, the volume of utilized investment, and the implementation of the National Rural Development Programme.

According to him, the volume of investment directed towards the development of the national economy from all sources of financing increased by 4.3 percent compared with the corresponding period of last year and amounted to 16.5 percent of gross domestic product.

Of the total investment, 45.1 percent was allocated to production facilities, while 54.9 percent was directed towards social and cultural facilities.

In addition, residential buildings with a total area of 309,000 square metres were commissioned in the country’s regions, cities, and districts during the first half of the year.

During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradow presented a report on the macroeconomic indicators of the national economy for January–June of the current year.

According to the report, Turkmenistan’s gross domestic product increased by 6.3 percent, while the total volume of output grew by 10.4 percent.

Growth rates amounted to 2.7 percent in industry, 6.7 percent in construction, 10.4 percent in the transport and communications sector, 8.5 percent in trade, 2 percent in agriculture, and 8.4 percent in the services sector.

Retail trade turnover increased by 10.1 percent, while foreign trade turnover rose by 7.5 percent.

This was announced on July 10 at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by the President of Turkmenistan.
