The Turkmen delegation took part in a high-level meeting held in Brussels
In Brussels, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Gurbanov, took part in the 13th meeting of the European Union–Central Asia High-Level Dialogue on Political and Security Issues.
During the meeting, the participants discussed pressing issues of regional and international security, prospects for further developing cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the European Union, as well as the practical implementation of joint initiatives aimed at strengthening stability, ensuring security, managing borders, countering modern threats and challenges, improving connectivity and advancing multilateral cooperation.
Speaking at the meeting, Ahmet Gurbanov emphasised that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the Central Asia–European Union cooperation format as an effective mechanism aimed at combining the potential of the regional states and the European Union in the interests of sustainable development, expanding connectivity and strengthening regional security.
Turkmenistan’s support was also reaffirmed for the further improvement of cooperation mechanisms between Central Asia and the European Union, including the High-Level Dialogue on Political and Security Issues, meetings of the special representatives of the Central Asian countries and the European Union, as well as the EU’s practical programmes aimed at strengthening the security capabilities of the regional states.
