A meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea issues was held

The 65th meeting of Turkmenistan’s Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea Issues was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting heard a report on the implementation of activities carried out between January and June under this year’s Action Plan. Participants also discussed the concept and final documents of the Caspian Environmental Summit, scheduled to take place in October 2026 in the Awaza National Tourist Zone.

The presentations focused on the results of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with reputable international organisations on Caspian Sea issues.

As noted, by joining dozens of United Nations environmental conventions, Turkmenistan demonstrates a responsible approach to addressing the sustainable development challenges facing the international community.

In this regard, the 65th meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission heard reports on events to be held in connection with Caspian Sea Day and their organisational arrangements.

Particular importance was attached to developing the Commission’s activities on a scientific basis and intensifying cooperation in this field within international organisations.
