A meeting was held with the chairman of the Turkmen–Korean interparliamentary friendship group

A meeting was held between D. Gulmanova, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, and a delegation led by Mr Cho Hyun-dong, Chairman of the Korea–Turkmenistan Interparliamentary Friendship Group.

During the meeting, the important role of interparliamentary cooperation in relations established between the two friendly countries in various fields was noted.

The participants highlighted the important role of the Central Asia–Republic of Korea Interparliamentary Forum in developing friendly relations among the countries of the region. The forum was established following a proposal put forward by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his working visit to the Republic of Korea in 2022.

The universal significance of Turkmenistan’s initiative, presented at a plenary meeting of the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly, to declare 2028 the “International Year of Law” in order to enhance the role of international law worldwide and strengthen trust and dialogue was also emphasised.
