Our country’s embassy in Washington held events marking the 35th anniversary of Independence

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States, together with the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations, organised a series of cultural and sporting events in Washington dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States.

A round-table discussion entitled “Turkmenistan–United States Cooperation: Celebrating Independence, Friendship and a Shared Future” was a central part of the programme.

The event was attended by Esen Aydogdyyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the United States; Vepa Hajiyev, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations; Mark Cameron, Deputy to the Acting Assistant Secretary of State of the United States; and Matthew Klimow, former U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan.

The parties noted the positive development of relations between Turkmenistan and the United States and exchanged views on promising areas for the further expansion of cooperation.
