How does hot weather affect a person’s sleep?

According to the data, people over the age of 65, women, residents of hot regions and people living in countries with below-average incomes suffer the most from nighttime heat.

Rising temperatures cause people around the world to lose an average of about 56 hours of sleep each year.

The negative impact of heat on sleep is especially pronounced in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Residents of these regions lose between 55 and 91 hours of sleep annually.

In Europe, nighttime heat has the strongest impact on southern regions.
