The UN General Assembly adopted the resolution “International Year of Law, 2028”

On July 24, 2026, at the 106th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the resolution “International Year of Law, 2028,” submitted at the initiative of Turkmenistan, was adopted unanimously.

Seventy-eight states served as co-sponsors of the document, demonstrating the initiative’s broad international support.

The adoption of the resolution became further evidence of the international community’s recognition of Turkmenistan’s consistent efforts to promote the rule of international law, strengthen a culture of peace and trust, and advance constructive multilateral cooperation within the framework of the United Nations.
