Snake Found on Plane in Japan

A scheduled flight was canceled at Fukuoka Airport in Japan after a snake measuring about 40 centimeters was found on board an aircraft.

According to Tengri Travel, citing Japanese media, specialists needed nearly a full day to catch the reptile after it hid beneath the carpeting.

The incident occurred on October 19 while an ATR 42 aircraft was being prepared for its next flight. The plane had arrived from Izumo Airport in Shimane Prefecture and was scheduled to depart again at 12:50 p.m.

However, after the snake was discovered on board, the search and capture operation took longer than expected, forcing the airline to cancel the flight.

According to Japan Air Commuter, a member of the Japan Airlines Group, the snake was first spotted by a technician during an aircraft inspection.

A wildlife specialist was then called in to safely capture and remove the reptile.
