New Fines Introduced in the UK for Passengers Who Disturb Others on Public Transport
New rules aimed at strengthening order on public transport have come into force in the United Kingdom.
According to “The Telegraph,” a program designed to prevent behavior that causes disruption to others was launched across the country on October 19.
Passengers who fail to follow the new rules may face substantial fines. They will be required to use headphones when listening to music or watching videos.
People who ignore warnings and continue causing excessive noise may be removed from the vehicle at the next stop and fined around $1,340.
Regulatory authorities and police have also been given full powers to take action not only against loud music, but also against the use of electronic cigarettes and littering on public transport.
