Nine Caves and One Salt Mine in Uzbekistan to Become Tourist Centers

Uzbekistan has identified ten natural sites for the development of speleotourism. Underground tourist routes, the necessary infrastructure, and visitor safety systems will be created in four regions of the country, Uznews reports.

The list was approved by a decision of the country’s Cabinet of Ministers. It includes nine caves and one salt mine located in the Jizzakh, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, and Kashkadarya regions.

The sites will undergo an inventory process, and a unified electronic registry will be created. Specialists will assess their location, tourism potential, technical condition, and legal status, after which an electronic passport will be prepared for each site.
