Construction of the Gumdag — Etrek Highway to Begin Within the Next Two Months

The main practical outcome of the talks held during the Iranian delegation’s visit to Turkmenistan was a decision to begin construction of the strategically important Gumdag — Etrek highway within the next two months.

The project, which will be implemented with the participation of an experienced Iranian contractor, is expected to facilitate road freight transportation, ease the movement of heavy vehicles with trailers, and increase the capacity of border infrastructure.

The project will also help strengthen the road network across the entire region.
