Uzbekistan to Chair the CIS in 2027
In 2027, the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States will pass to Uzbekistan. The decision was announced at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State held in Avaza.
CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev reported on the decision, which was adopted as part of the rotation of the organization’s chairmanship.
The head of Azerbaijan also officially stated that the country is ready to assume the full CIS chairmanship in 2028.
As part of these responsibilities, the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State is planned to be held in the autumn of 2028.
