Portugal National Team Temporarily Suspends Ronaldo from Matches
According to Portuguese media, particularly “A Bola,” the decision was prompted by the player leaving the national team camp without authorization.
Reports say the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) is reviewing the matter under an expedited procedure intended for such cases. In an official statement, the federation said that the relevant documents were submitted to the Disciplinary Investigations Committee on October 10 and that no further details would be disclosed until the investigation is completed.
“A Bola” and “CNN Portugal,” citing FPF regulations, report that Ronaldo could face a suspension of up to six months and a fine ranging from €500 to €1,000 for leaving the team without permission.
The 41-year-old team captain left the national team camp on September 30, one day before the Nations League match against Denmark, which ended 4–2.
