Battlefield Video Game Series to Be Adapted into a Movie

Sony is in talks to acquire the film adaptation rights to the Battlefield video game series, Variety reports. Director and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie and actor Michael B. Jordan are expected to work on the project.

McQuarrie could serve as screenwriter, director, and producer. If the project moves forward, Jordan is expected to take on the lead role while also serving as a producer.

The producing team is also expected to include Jesse Stern from Electronic Arts, Carter Swan from Emerald Neon, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon from Vertigo, as well as Outlier Society president Elizabeth Raposo.

It is not yet known when filming will begin.
