Dutch Students Develop a Car That Cleans the Air

Students at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have developed a concept electric vehicle called “Ventra,” which is designed to reduce the amount of harmful particles in the air while driving.

The project’s developers note that even electric vehicles are not completely harmless to the environment. Although they do not produce exhaust emissions, the wear of tires and braking systems generates fine dust particles while the vehicle is moving.

To address this issue, the students created a special system that captures solid particles as the car travels. After the particles are electrically charged, they settle onto a special surface inside the system.

Once the journey is over, the collected dust can be removed. According to the developers, the recovered material can also be recycled.
