NASA Releases Archive Data from the “Artemis II” Mission to the Public
NASA has made a large collection of archive materials from the “Artemis II” mission publicly available.
The released archive exceeds 800 gigabytes and includes:
-
detailed reports in PDF format and guides for working with the data;
-
more than 11,000 high-quality photos and video recordings;
-
over 8.5 hours of conversations between the crew and with mission control;
-
images of important events marked by astronauts on tablets during the flight.
Among the archived images, flashes caused by meteoroids striking the Moon’s surface were specially highlighted. Crew members also examined unusual colored spots observed on the lunar surface.
The astronauts aboard the “Orion” spacecraft spent nearly 7 hours photographing the Moon through the spacecraft’s windows.
