China Sets Record by Launching 116 Underwater Drones into Autonomous Operation at Once

China has set a world record for the simultaneous autonomous operation of a large number of underwater vehicles.

A total of 116 small drones independently followed a predefined route in a reservoir without human supervision.

The test involved TH-618 drones developed by Northwestern Polytechnical University and Xi’an Tianhe Maritime Technologies.

The demonstration took place on August 29 under the supervision of Guinness World Records representatives, who officially confirmed the achievement.
