Zaha Hadid Foundation Announces Opening of New Creative Center in London
Preparations are underway for the opening of a new cultural space in London’s Clerkenwell district, which is expected to become a regional center for architecture and art. The building previously served for 30 years as the headquarters of renowned architect Zaha Hadid’s studio.
The redesign of the site was entrusted to the architectural group “Studio KA.” While preserving the historic building’s architectural features and original decorative elements, the specialists restored the ground floor and modernized the space to allow visitors to move around more freely and comfortably.
Commenting on the project, foundation director Aric Chen said: “Zaha’s creative legacy will continue here. We will carry it forward through our future-focused programs and exhibitions.”
The official opening of the new art space is scheduled for November. As part of the event, a two-day academic and practical conference will also be held in cooperation with the Architectural Association and the “Serpentine” gallery.
The conference is being organized to mark the 10th anniversary of Zaha Hadid’s death.
