Turkmenistan Delegation Takes Part in 15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

The 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice was held in Abu Dhabi. The forum brought together representatives from dozens of countries, including more than 32 ministers of justice and interior.

A Turkmenistan delegation headed by the country’s Deputy Prosecutor General took part in the Congress.

Speaking during the high-level segment, the head of the delegation expressed gratitude to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Emirati side for organizing the Congress. He also noted that the country’s national policy is based on the rule of law and prioritizing crime prevention.

The main outcome of the Congress was the adoption of the Abu Dhabi Declaration, which sets out priority areas for international cooperation in this field for the next five years.

The document covers efforts to combat organized crime and cybercrime, the responsible use of artificial intelligence, protection of victims, asset recovery, and the fight against corruption.

The “Pledge4Justice” initiative was launched to support the implementation of the Declaration.
