iPhone 18 Pro Color Reportedly Begins to Fade

Users who purchased Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro models have begun complaining that the color of the devices’ outer casing is changing.

The issue is said to be particularly noticeable on the new dark purple and black models, where the finish reportedly fades and turns light red or nearly colorless.

According to experts, the problem may be related to the quality of the anodizing process used to color the aluminum body. If the protective layer is not strong enough, skin oils and sweat may interact with the surface and gradually affect its color.

This does not appear to be the first such case for Apple. In 2025, some orange iPhone 17 Pro devices were also reported to have developed a pinkish tint, although the issue did not become widespread at the time.

Apple has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
